Richard Weldon is bringing “A Capella Plus Community Choir” to St. Luke’s Church at 6:30 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2025.  Come one, come all!  No charge but donations accepted.  Richard explains:

“We have been a Community Choir for two years but we decided A-Cappella was a fitting name for this group! Right as of today we have 1 Bass, 2 Tenors, 3 Altos and 3 sopranos and hope to bring more singers as we go along.  Arts Coalition of Delta County sponsors the group.  Our arts coalition has partnered with the Delta VFW post to build a new building in North Delta on US highway 50 which will have a 400 plus seating capacity, be a visitors center for travelers, and will feature all kinds of music, theater, art and dance!  We hope to encourage all sorts of Cultural events and bring more people into the Arts!

We especially like your Church for it’s unique small and friendly place for small groups and concerts!  We also hope to encourage youth to get involved in the arts. 

We meet to practice on Tuesday at 5:30 pm for at least an hour at Grand Mesa SBC in Cedaredge.  We work hard, laugh a lot and have lots of fun learning new and especially some of the oldies, Christian songs, etc.”

                  “If you want some about me, l taught band in Kansas 3 years, came to Delta in 1969 and taught band 221/2 years at DHS, have presently at least 5 of my students are Band Directors in Colorado. I am also founder of Arts Coalition of Delta County.”

Pancake Supper March 4th, plus

Ash Wednesday Service with ashes March 5th

Mardi Gras means FAT Tuesday! Delta’s St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5th and Palmer, is hosting the Annual Pancake Supper celebrating Shrove Tuesday, March 4th, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Supper includes bacon, eggs, buttermilk pancakes with butter and syrup, plus orange juice and tea or coffee, all for a suggested donation of what you can afford! Bring the whole family!  Come and gain some weight before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday, March 5th, with service at 6 pm.  All are welcome to attend both events.

All congregants of St. Luke’s are encouraged to attend the annual meeting where we celebrate the accomplishments of 2024 with reports from all the ministries. We will be asked to vote to approve the 2025 budget. Two new vestry members will be welcomed and the new Senior Warden will be voted in. The meeting will start upstairs and finish downstairs with a potluck supper.

Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church at 145 W. 5th St. in Delta, CO will present the band, “Stray Grass” of the Grand Valley, on Friday, November 15th at 7:00pm. Stray Grass includes strings with vocals, and specializes in high-energy interpretation of acoustic Americana music, played on traditional instruments with untraditional styling! This “Evening of Music series” is free to the public. Seating is limited, so come early and don’t be left out!

Safe Church Training 9-29-2024 Part 2

All church attendees who have keys or are in leadership capacity are required to take the Safe Church training from the Diocese of Colorado. This training will be offered at St.. Luke’s in a group format after coffee hour on September 15 and 29. It is also available online to be done at home via episcopalcolorado.org, “Safe Church”. Show up and you will be included!
